Kali is a born and raised Ohio-an, and grew up in a small rural community where hunting was second nature. Entering the hunting industry after college, Kali served as the Communications Specialist for the U.S. Sportsmen’s Alliance, providing communications and marketing assistance to the non-profit, as well as growing her knowledge of hunting and fishing. Her love for writing, design and photography has since lead her to serve as the Managing Editor of Petersen’s Hunting magazine. Prior to her ascension to Editor-in-Chief of Gun Dog Magazine while being mentored by Ultimate Upland, Kali was lead to her first wild pheasant, first wild Bobwhite, first Hun, first Chukar, first Sharptail, first Blue Grouse and first ptarmigan. Kali loves all things upland bird related, but most of all, her silver labrador, Lincoln who was trained by Ultimate Upland contributors.

I was able to easily pack four days and three nights worth of gear and food in Eddie Bauer’s Alchemist….
When afield we like leather gloves that have balance. We need maximum feel and functionality so that we can click off the safety and pull the trigger. But gloves still need to provide enough protection to remove sand spurs from the dog and help weasel our way through thorns in the grouse woods. These deerskin…
Filson may have built their reputation on their indestructible Tin Cloth, but if they keep turning out jackets like this Ultra Light Weight made from ripstop Cordura® the mantle could be passed. For a weather-resistant jacket, the warmth-to-weight ratio is amazing due largely to the PrimaLoft Gold® Insulation which retains it’s insulating capabilities even when…
