5.11 Ruck

5.11 Urban Utility Ruck

Getting ready for road trips is always a process for me. Lists lead to piles. Piles turn into containers filled with unorganized gear. Then I spend half the trip searching for things.

The 5.11 Urban Utility Ruck 25L helped me change the game this year. I utilize a lot of electronics in the field, which leads to a pile of components and accessories (collars and remotes for dogs, cameras, a laptop, remote power banks, and batteries for headlamps, etc.).

The ruck has one large, wide-mouthed compartment where I stored all of the larger items like my laptop, three GPS collars and remotes, a headlamp, and camera gear. The two zippered side pockets were great for storing and organizing smaller items like the wide array of different charger cables.

The main cover for the ruck has two storage pockets, a webbed area on the inside and a zipped pocket on top. I used these pockets to store SD cards, batteries, and my GoPro cameras.

This pack was the perfect solution for my organization woes. No more lost charger cables that slid under the truck seat. I even used it to throw some extra clothes in for the road.

The Urban Utility Ruck 25L isn’t just a storage solution. It includes hydration compatibility, front and side web MOLLE, side compression straps, and articulating shoulder straps with MOLLE web and loops. These features make this ruck a great option for day trips and trail hikes.

Stop wondering if you grabbed that one charger cable. Grab an Urban Utility Ruck 25L from 5.11 and get your gear piles organized — $110.
