Koch Accepts Role with Muskingum Watershed Conservancy District

Happy to share that I’ve accepted a new role on the Development Advisory Committee (DAC) of the Muskingum Watershed Conservancy District.

As many of you know, I grew up in the heart of the Muskingum Watershed and it feels great to be returning to my outdoor roots with an opportunity to shape public access and usage of the 41,000 acres of land and 16,000 acres of water surface at 10 lakes.

As a member of the DAC I hope to share my decades of experience afield with the Board and staff, advising them on public access, recreation, conservation and community involvement across the MWCD. There are tons of upgrades and projects coming online in the trail system which will be one of my primary focuses going forward. (See the trails blueprint.)

I’ve got a lot to learn about the broader watershed and I look forward to the opportunity to explore more of Ohio in the coming months while I train for the upland season this fall.

Most importantly, I look forward to your input. If you’d like to join me for a hike or paddle on any of the MWCD properties to discuss the watershed, feel free to shoot me a DM.  (Map and List Here) I’m hoping to get a much broader community perspective of these resources as I settle into this role.

We waded into the headwaters of Pleasant Hill to celebrate my new position. Though the fishing was slow, it felt great being back in my home waters.
